Marriage Isn't For You Book Review

Marriage Isn't for You: It's for the One You Love
Book Description:
For author Seth Adam Smith, it was the advice from his father, who said, "Marriage isn't for you. It's about the person you marry." These few words completely change the way Seth looked at his relationship with his wife. His thoughts on the subject became an online phenomenon. Paired with beautiful images, they are now available as a book—the perfect gift for newlyweds, those who are celebrating an anniversary, or anyone who wants to learn how to make a relationship stronger.

My Review:
5 out of 5 stars

A beautiful book of images and text made to inspire greater love and respect in marriage. Where was this book when I was a newlywed? The advice the author received from his father is simple, profound, and priceless! Marriage truly isn't about yourself, but about the person you marry. I know this lesson is one I'm still trying to learn in my own marriage, but my husband and I grow every day as we reach out with love and understanding to each other. The photographs in the book are touching and inspiring. A beautiful little book that is sure to touch every marriage, new and well-seasoned with life's experiences.

About the Author: SETH ADAM SMITH was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Since 2004, he has produced videos and articles for businesses, nonprofit organizations, youth groups, artists, and political causes. He is the editor-in-chief of He and his wife, Kim, live in Florida.

Prejudice Meets Pride Review

Prejudice Meets Pride Tour Banner

Prejudice Meets Pride by Rachael Anderson Book Cover  Prejudice Meets Pride by Rachael Anderson
After years of pinching pennies and struggling to get through art school, Emma Makie’s hard work finally pays off with the offer of a dream job. But when tragedy strikes, she has no choice but to make a cross-country move to Colorado Springs to take temporary custody of her two nieces. She has no money, no job prospects, and no idea how to be a mother to two little girls, but she isn’t about to let that stop her. Nor is she about to accept the help of Kevin Grantham, her handsome new neighbor, who seems to think she’s incapable of doing anything on her own.
Fun, compelling, and romantic, Prejudice Meets Pride is the story of a guy who thinks he has it all figured out and a girl who isn't afraid to show him that he doesn't. It’s about learning what it means to trust, figuring out how to give and to take, and realizing that not everyone gets to pick the person they fall in love with. Sometimes, love picks them.

My Review:
4 out of 5 stars

Another great clean romance that was an absolute delight to read. Emma's spunky character sucked me in from the beginning, as does her strong determination to care for her nieces despite her own financial and emotional difficulties. Kevin, as the charming, but somewhat prejudiced, next door neighbor is a good match for our spunky heroine. They work together to overcome bad initial impressions to help each other learn that pride can sometimes harm more than it helps. Seeing both of their defenses lower as they feel out their tentative new friendship is heartwarming. Their fun banter and disasters made me  laugh out loud several times. I'd definitely recommend this for a nice cozy afternoon read. Warning: You will crave chocolate after the scrumptious descriptions of Mud Pie!
